International Center for Applied Computational Mechanics Shalimar, FL
The ICACM is a consortium involving two universities in the United States and four European universities that focus on bridging scales of computation.
Focus: computational mechanics
Location/address: 1350 North Poquito Road, Shalimar, FL 32579
Overview: The university research consortium includes the University of Florida, Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, Université de Lille, University of Michigan, Université Paris XIII, Université de Savoie. The consortium is focusing on bridging scales in computation: from microstructure to macro-scale properties of heterogeneous materials, computational methods for solving multi-scales problems in metallic and geologic materials, and continuum and discrete modeling.
Technical expertise/research fields: Theory and modeling of heterogeneous, metallic and geologic materials, especially a very high strain rates.
Research/site/business development contact: Dr. John “Row” Rogacki, director
Mailing address: University of Florida, Research and Engineering Education Facility, 1350 N. Poquito Rd., Shalimar, FL 32579
